Yes, there is a chance that she could have a reaction to it, but it is important that she isn't in pain. Usually drugs are worth the risk...
If she had preop bloodwork and everything was normal, she should be just fine. Because it's only for a few days, the risks are pretty low. Long-term use (weeks to years) would concern me much more. You can get an alternative if you're really nervous, but as long as she is doing well on it, there really isn't any reason to.
