Instead of shocking the poor little critter, how about:
1) teach a down/stay or a sit/stay? May take a little longer than plugging in a mat, but something he really needs to learn anyway.
2) picking him up when you open the door?
3) putting up a gate between him and the door?
While aversives probably do work, why not try a kinder/gentler approach first? |
