Our vet went thru the usual questions- poison, something he ate, obstruction etc. They finally diagnosed him with HGE (hemmoragic gastroenteritis). He is fine now but I watch him closely. I hope Betty Boop is feeling better. If she has the chills, I would be worried she has a fever and is becoming dehydrated. You may need to get her back to the vet.
It is so scary to see bloody poops like that! I looked in the yard today where it happened last night and actually it didn't look like any poop at all...just mucous and blood. It sounds like Bubba really had it bad last year. I'm glad he has been doing fine since then. Do you give him anything special for the HGE? And are they 100% positive it is that? I hope Boop just ate something out in the yard that went through her. She was in the yard today and trying to find something else to get into!!

She has gotten better throughout the day. She's still not 100%, but I think she will be fine. We're going to her regular vet tomorrow. Her chills didn't last long, maybe 30 minutes or so. I took her temp and it was 99. Not sure if that is considered too low or not. I'm taking it again before bed tonight.

You had the blood work done at the vet. I'd check the color of her gums and to see if they are sticky . You can also check for dehydration by seeing if her skin bounces back when you pull on it. As long as she isn't continuing to vomit or to have diarrhea, she should be fine based upon what the er vet said. Have you taken her temperature? How does her body feel? Is it cold or hot? That could be a reason why she is shaking (low body temperature or fever), or she can be scared because she isn't feeling well. I know how worried you are, and I totally understand. I will be praying for Betty Boop. I hope your little doll gets better very quickly.
Thank you for your reply and prayers. She hasn't drank much water since this morning. I think her gums feel a little tacky. I'm taking her to her regular vet tomorrow. Her skin pops right back into place. She hasn't vomited or had diarrhea today. In fact, she has only had one BM in the past 24 hours and it was very small. It wasn't bloody to the eye; however, the stain on the pee pad looked like a little bloody. Not sure. Her temp this a.m. was 99. I'm taking it again at bedtime. Her body always feels hot to the touch. She has been lying around all day with no energy.....just not feeling like her playful and loving self.
