Then after the 1 year shots, it should be good for 3 years according to them. Most vets are following this protocol now, getting shots every 3 years for the rest of their lives rather than every year. However, more are beginning to see that vaccines aren't really necessary even every 3 years.

While my plan is to follow Dr. Jean Dodds protocol (meaning Jackson will never get shots again except for rabies every 3yrs as required by law), I am not totally sure what I will do just because I do travel a lot with Jackson so I don't ever want him to be considered not UTD on shots. Either way, I feel safer with every 3yrs then every year.

So, Bailey is 2 right?? The months thing confuses me!! LOL. If he had his DHPP and Rabies at 1 year old, he should NOT need them again for 3 more years but I don't know the legal requirements of rabies in Canada.

I stated Bailey's age incorrectly He is 18 months! His last shots were a year ago and that was a 5 Way and Rabies. I thought the rabies were every 3 years here too, I really have to check this out! I don't want them to have shots that are not a necessity! So you did not get a booster for Jackson a year after his last set of puppy shots?
