FlDebra:
First of all, let me say that I am sorry for your father, and, Thank YOU for your service. I did not take offense to the suggestions or recommendations, only to the, what I thought were accusations, about not caring for my baby girl. If I took them wrong, I am man enough to admit that. I do appreciate the suggestions I stated, just not the recommendation that of giving her away, or that I would not do the right thing and care for her. Angelees was only reacting to my over rwction, so please do not take offense. We both misinterpreted your post, and for that I, accept my appoligies.
Ladyjane: thank you for that info. I read up a little on rice, and was amazed to see that it actually has quite a bit of liquid stored in it. So, although she is not drinking, she is still getting fluids which I am so enthused about.
kjc: Her bowls are ceramic (I think). She eats out of one, but refuses to drink out of the other. Matching set, go figure! There is also a large plastic "Le Bistro" which is my Cousin's (his dog Heidi's) which she was drinking out of as well. Now, she will not drink from either. Her Mom has suggested getting new bowls, and that may be she is associating her getting or being sick with those bowls... I guess it makes sense, to someone anyways...
I gave her a wet meal of rice, chicken and gravy baby food, and chicken broth. Shortly after, she grabbed a cookie which fell out of the box when I was moving things around. About an hour later she ran to her pad and had very soft stool, almost diarrhea. Not sure if it was the food mixture or cookie, so her next feeding was more dry... No cookies on the menu, and she is such a little sneak!! She grabbed that cookie and ran under the bed laughing the hole time!!! Little booger!!! Anyway, she just finished her meal, and is now napping as usual... Of course, she had to bark, growl, and complain about bird outside the window first...
I guess as long as she continues to go pee, she is getting fluids, but we are going to get new bowls tonight or tomorrow, just in case... |
