Second, YES... She has been bathed, no bites are visible or apparent. Started benadryl Monday evening, symptoms started Tuesday...

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this thread. Dad's been in hospital and I only check in for a few minutes so I am just reading this and VERY surprised. First of all -- you said you were not working and continuing to pay for vet visits was NOT something you could continue. I thought you meant that. You also asked for help when you posted here. Now you accuse me of preaching to you for offering options and possibilities about the itching, saying I should not tell you what to do or how to care for her? I am really sorry you took it that way.

I gave several alternatives as a means of paying for vet visits, as continued health care for her is important. I did not lecture or treat you as a child. I really am sorry you were offended. Yours was not the first I had read that day of someone not being able to afford medical care for their dog. When that happens, you need options. I did not offer only one option or tell you which to pick -- I thought I worded it in a way that showed the choice was yours. If you can find other ways of paying, I am not sure why you made that comment.

I also offered some suggestions for the itching. Sorry if you had already considered them, but I thought I would try to offer help. I am glad you are the kind of person that cares so deeply that you are offended when you think someone is questioning how much you care about your dog but I assure you I'm NOT doing that. I took you at your word that you could not continue to pay the vet bills so I thought offering some other ways of getting the vet bills paid for was the INTELLIGENT thing to do. I imagine if I had stopped at the insurance and credit card options, you would not have been angry. But especially in these economic times, there are people who have to turn to rescues for the good of their pets. It was not meant as an insult or sermon.

Angeleyes -- I take great offense of your comment which is attacking me personally with the immature comment about opening brain before commenting. I did THINK a great deal before posting that. I wanted to make sure I offered alternatives that they could consider before letting a pet go without vet help. I meant no harm, no belittling and certainly do not deserve your insult!

LadyJane -- thanks for sticking up for my comments and seeing they were made in good faith.

Most of all -- I am glad to hear she is doing better. That is the important thing! BTW Armyvet -- I am also a veteran -- a Navy retiree -- 22 years active duty. I can stick up for myself too, but I also like to stick up for the little ones we love so much. Glad you are that sort of person too!
