I recently had Princess spayed at little over 7 months of age. (3 1/2 weeks ago). Princess weighed 3 lbs. 8 oz. on the day she had her spay surgery. I was worried also since she is so small.
Princess did great with her spay surgery. Our vet gives an option of surgery by scalpel or laser. I chose laser surgery for both of my pups.
Your own vet may be the best person to advise you, about your own pup since he/she would be most familiar with Mablel's health history.
I asked ALOT of questions months in advance and also before surgery to make sure Princess would do OK during and after surgery.
I have only had the experience of having my cats spayed and neutered. I was not so sure if there was anything to be more concerned about with my 2 pups.
It is always a good idea to have the pre-surgical blood work done to make sure your own pup is in the best of health internally prior to scheduled surgery.
