It's been a little while since I've posted but I just had to come share this accomplishment. We bought Poochie Bells a while back & began trying to train Lulu to ring the bells to go potty outside. I thought she would never get it, but finally a few days ago she rang the bells to be let outside!
I wasn't sure if she did it by simply playing with it or if she really rang them knowing she would get to go out...when I went to investigate, she looked up at me and then at the door & rang the bells again as if to say didn't you hear? I want out.
She rings it mostly to go out to play, but she will do her business while out there as well. We're still having accidents in the house (mostly poo accidents)...I'm hoping she will eventually ring her bell to go out everytime she needs to potty but this is a great start, IMO. She at least understands that ringing the bells allows her to get to go outside even if it is just to chase bugs & roll around in the grass.
