I agree, some do some don't. My little Rowdy (Yorkie) does fine when I leave - he doesn't whine or cry at all. My 13 year old schnauzer has horrible separation anxiety when he is left alone - but now that Rowdy is here, he does much better and doesn't cry when I leave. So, you just never know. Rowdy is not real clingy though, even when I'm at home. He plays with his toys with me or by himself - either way, he's fine. He can be very independent. So, I really think it depends on the personality.
