I wouldnt let him jump at all...........that is just my opinion.........My baby doesnt have the patella issue....knock on wood........because i learned through the years of what to and what not to do.....I have steps for him to get off the sofa with......I hope everything goes ok...Hopefully the vet will straighten this out for you..............Boops Mom
