Default Some of the Worst Puppy Mills in America

HSUS releases "Missouri’s Dirty Dozen" report

The HSUS released “Missouri’s Dirty Dozen,” a report on some of the most deplorable puppy mills in Missouri. These puppy mills were singled out for repeatedly depriving dogs of the basics of humane care like food, shelter, and basic veterinary care.
Violations included sick or dying puppies who had not been treated by a veterinarian; dogs found shivering in temperatures as low as 9 degrees; and dogs so emaciated that their bones were visible through their skin.

Here is the PDF link to the entire report listing the worst of the worst puppymills. Take a few minutes to look it over, noting that there are approximately 200,000 dogs in mills in the state of Missouri cranking out puppies to pet shops and online consumers. The conditions are heartbreaking and the picture are burned into my memory. This report will open your eyes to what really is going on within the mills in this country.

The report is dated today and many of the violations are from this past summer.

Before dropping his USDA license, this MO commercial breeder accumulated multiple repeat violations, including dogs without food and water, injured dogs who were not being treated by a vet, sanitation issues, and serious care issues. He still holds a state kennel license. HSUS
