He's been discharged, but without a definative diagnosis. They are still leaning towards porphyria, but the hematologist this morning said he's not so certain my husband had it. He said the tests are still pending.

He has a thyroid test in the morning. Repeat CBC on Thurs or Friday and appointments next week with 4 of the doctors who saw him during his hospital stay. They said he may have to have blood dumps every few weeks to keep his hemoglobin and hematocrit in a good range. He was at high normal this morning.

I sure hope they can put their finger ON it soon. I'm afraid of another flareup and I'm watching him like a hawk.
