We just got our first Yorkie, Guy, in June. He's a three-year-old that we bought from a family that took very good care of him, but they had acquired so many pets that they couldn't give him the attention he wanted - He likes LOTS of attention.

Anyway, so far we've had him groomed at Petco and Petsmart. We weren't too pleased with the results at Petco, but in fairness, it was at least partially our fault. We knew that the look we wanted for him is called a "puppy cut," so when the groomer asked if that was what we wanted, we said yes. When we picked him up he looked adorable, except for one big thing... His ears. Guy is a purebred, but he has floppy ears. They shaved his cute ears as they would have for a Yorkie whose ears stand up! He also seemed a bit nervous when we picked him up, but we didn't know whether or not he was accustomed to being groomed.

Next we tried Petsmart and had much better results. In fact, the groomer even questioned why his little ears were shaved like that. He has a cottony coat, and it was so soft and pretty when they were done! When the groomer brought him out, he was licking her face and wagging his little tail - Not at all nervous! You should have seen him prancing around Petsmart afterwards - He knew how cute he looked. He's normally wary of strangers at first, but he kept running up to people looking for attention! It was so funny! We got the name of the groomer and will continue taking him back to her.

So, that's my two cents!
