As for the steroid in his eyes, I would not do that unless it has been recommended by the vet (which it may have been) because if they have any infection or an eye ulcer, then steroids will make the condition worse!
There are a lot of people on YT who know more about allergies than I do, so I will defer to them on that topic.
Poor baby sounds miserable. I hope you can find answers soon! Good luck. |

Oh my gosh, this poor baby.
Please, go back to your vet or see a different one. With symptoms this severe, he really needs accurate clinical support, and quick!
Honestly, my advice would be to see a Vet Dermatologist with the symptoms you're seeing here. There are several things that need to be ruled out before a diagnosis of enviro allergies can be assumed. Keep in mind that here in AZ, we deal with pollens ALL year 'round. So, if he is having pollen allergies - he really does need more support (Atopica, Temaril-P, steroids, and/or allergy testing).
He should really have skin cultures etc to rule things out too, as I already mentioned.
I see Vet Derms here in Phx - and they are just incredible! Yes, they are more expensive - but they will save you 10 trips to a regular vet who doesn't specialize in tough skin/allergy issues. Trust me, it's worth every penny!
I go here, and they also serve Tucson...I can't recommend them highly enough:
