You are probably gonna throw something at me for this but.....
If they write it 8.6 and 8.8, then that is actually in tenths of a pound and not ounces. She now weighs 8 and 8/10 pounds. So, she gained 2 tenths of a pound (.2). One tenth of a pound (.1 lb) = 1.6 oz, so she gained 3.2 ounces. Too much nit-picking? Go ahead, you can throw a virtual snowball at me or something.
How old is she and how long since the last weigh in? You have gotten good advice about going more by how her body is proportioned than the actual weight. Even drinking a lot of water before weigh-in can have a big impact on our little ones' weights. HAve you discussed the weight issue with your vet? I am not in favor of "lite" foods for puppies, not sure how old your Tila is, but hope well over a year old.
As for carrots -- I think they are pretty low in calories -- a WHOLE cup of chopped carrots is only 52 calories. Carrots got bad reviews for having a high GI (glycemic index) but mixed with her other food in small amounts I doubt there will be any rise in sugar levels. Their great nutritional value is worth it to keep them coming! I use the tiniest baby carrots (not the shaved down big ones made to look like little carrots) for treats for my dogs, especially in the hot summer. Green beans are always good too. Minr like them from the can, but if you do get canned, better to stick with low sodium -- frozen ones are better, I think.
