I mean the poster on this thread bought her female from someone who bought the dog from her. I guess that could have been when she was brokering
I guess I'm just wondering who has ownership of all these puppies, it seems like it could easily lead to not having control over your lines or whatever.
I understand & can respect she has become a friend of yours.
I just have to say for me, if I were a potential buyer or someone that would ask, I just would never consider her.
If she's stopped brokering, good for her, but she's done it, she's ok with mixes and shares her website with her daughter and there are lots of mixes on there, unfortunately.
Then with breeding small females & too many times.
For me personally, I just could never buy from a breeder like that, but I appreciate the explanation!
Hey Reese. From what I understand, She gives the pup to the family, but it's someone she is familiar with, not just a stranger. I was offered a pup at one time but it wasn't the type of thing I was interested in. Anyway, the pup is theres but there is a contract that states they agree to breed that pup when it is old enough, and that after three breedings, the dog is then spayed and the contractual end of the contract is met and the dog is then theirs free and clear to keep forever. I would never do it. I just thought it was a neat way of breeding because the dog would never be in a kennel situation and or rehomed. Believe me I agree with you. I do not reccomend anyone to anyone and that goes for Susan or another breeder. I just really responded to clear up that she does not broker anymore from my understanding. Her business is her own and does not reflect how I feel. I just on a personal level like her, but we stay off of the controversial subjects and focus on interests we do have, such as rescue. She does do a lot of donating. If you look at her site she has buyers write out a $25 check payable right to a rescue organization. She also donates food, blankets etc (Collects stuff) and drops it to her shelter locally. And, she's had a few rescues herself that she's place and a few she has kept. Anyway, that is her breeding program and I don't blame the way you feel. Just wanted explain it since you asked. Elaine
