It wasn't an open wound, just very puffy. Said it is almost callused over but all red now because of her scratching. The reason there is no hair over the area is because they shaved it to prevent more irritation.
They decided it was probably just irritated from her tags or could have been a callus there for a long time and going to the groomers last week could have caused a small infection that just spun out of control.
