Yes , Fido also loves beeing outdoors and running
But he hates getting grass in his fur and beeing wet, so i think this is OK for him
I have a wrapping jacket that i put him in if its snowing, or if its wet outside, he does get matts from it but its better to comb out 5-10 matts than having to bathe him after walks in the snow, its silky inside but his coat is so thick that he gets few matts anyways, but not close to as many matting and as much matting as in woolen clothes , much much less matting in his wrapping jacket
