yes I know what u mean with the tail getting matted, I find their undercarriage gets loads of little matts too even with daily grooming, I keep Alfie's coat short as he loves going for walks down the bogland and running in and out of trees and ditches and when he gets back I keep plucking bits of this and that out of him.. lol

he gives us so much fun, he is our first
little dog , we had an Irish Wolfhound and an Old English Sheepdog previous to Alfie , and the sheepdogs coat was so much more work to keep it right but we loved them and they too loved the bogland too
