As i'm going along her feet i notice a front toe has the same thing wrong, upon further investigation it is swollen, red inflammed, has crusty crap around it.
Took her to the vet again, she can't pin point the cause of this. Allergies would make her chew her entire foot not just one toe. It could be mosquito bites causing her to chew/lick it raw. It could be something like ringworm or demodex (she's doing a skin culture now) it's infected by cocci bacteria.
Anyone ever seen anything like this?? |
Are you saying this is the problem? If so, I imagine the vet gave her an antibiotic?
My George recently had an infection (bacteria and fungal) between two pads on one foot....caused, we believe, by licking. When they lick a lot, they can end up with an open area that is susceptible to germs. He has allergies and does lick his feet when they are bad. He had a shot of Convenia and we applied animax each day...he is fine now.
