We move backwards and forwards from semi tropical Durban summer to a freezing winter Highveldt, South Africa. Snow and burning beaches. MacBeth and Timothy, now both 13, have been moving backwards and forwards since birth, love the hot sand and the snow both. They do get cold, and can shiver badly - and burnt paws on the sand too - but, like children, they soon tell you what they want, and so we learned always jackets in the icy cold, but never indoors, and carry them over hot sand to the shade, and boots just not acceptable to them. Temperatures in-between they cope easily with. But they don't care for bootees on their paws at all, inhibits their senses I guess? Sleep in our bed up North, but never when we are down hot South. Yorkies do not NEED smothering... but hey! it's so cute to dress them up.
