I found my Yorkie's breeder by checking the ACK and YTCA websites for lists of breeders, then searching for comments about the listed breeders here.
Folks on this forum know so much about caring for Yorkies -- I recommend you read as much as your brain can take, especially in the health and emergency categories -- to get an idea of the pros and cons of this little dog and make sure you're prepared to care for it properly (not to mention handle the expenses). As adorable as these dogs are, this breed is not for everyone.
I learned a lot about how to find a responsible breeder, and think that my home will be an excellent fit for the puppy I chose, thanks to information on this forum. And I have also gotten a lot of laughs and a few tears in this group already. |
