Yes, keep an eye out for dehydration. Pinch the scruff of the neck and lift gently. It should go back down slowly. Make sure baby's gums are pink. NEVER let him get cold.
I used an electric candle warmer with a cup of water on it to warm my cleftie's bottle. You could do the same with your syringe.
I didn't have to tube feed until mine was a little older.
