Hello Mommy, Don't worry about some comments from some who call your dog a mutt. Mutt, Morkie, Yorkie, all the same as far as love goes I have a Shorkie, many members here know that but Jemma has never been called a mutt. Truthfully I'd bite the person back, lol
WHATEVER the reason is, the fact is, the puppy needs to be re-homed. I imagine you paid the price for what are called, designer pups. No I don't consider my girl a designer pup nor was that name even known to me. I love Shih Tze and love Yorkies, hence when I saw one instantly fell in love. I really didn't know the breed until I asked what mix it was and was told. However I only paid 400.00 and received a health guarantee not that I would expect one at 400.00. At 900, oh yes I would.
But today people are paying way too high for this dogs, unforunately you are one of them. You probably just didn't know. But the people here are not involved with mixed breeds but some truly care about all puppies/dogs. When this old Shorkie owner asks for opinions or help, people jump out to help.
I think the problem is this. Please do not take anything to offense because it is not my intention.
Many people give up dogs using the word allergy. That is the #1 reason my county dog shelter receives when a dog is turned in. So when someone comes here stating that, it has been heard before and the red flags go up. Sometimes a bit too quick. So it is understandable for many to be cautious when hearing it. Many here work for shelters or help in rescue.
I can only think of a few options which answers I know you won't like.
No one here is going to buy her. I think you will find you are also not getting 900 for her. You will definitely have to accept that.
You can bring your son to the allergist to see if anything can be done so your son can remain healthy and the puppy happy she can stay with her family.
Contact the breeder and tell her since she won't take the puppy back, as a reputable breeder she could at least point people your way for a puppy. I would call her reputable only to put something positive in her head, of course she isn't but at this point you can't care about that.
Or you can take the loss, as hard as it may be and give her to the wonderful rescue groups out there. You can be sure that a rescue group will do everything to make sure, first she is healthy and provide any medical care she might need and 2, screen people who may be interested. I won't get into how strict the rescues can be when placing a rescue. But they need to be that way for damn good reasons. Finding a good home where they don't have to worry about little fur babies being re-homed over and over again. Hats off to the many involved in rescue and shelter. I find it extremely difficult and tried to volunteer at our local shelter and could not do it. I was heart sick and anxiety ridden. I don't know how they do it but point is they do.
I say this because if you do give her to rescue I want you to know the kind of people they are. It takes a lot of guts and love and that is what your little baby would be getting.
I wish you well and hope that your little fur baby finds herself in a good home very, very soon as the longer she stays the more attached she will become to you. She is really already. The day you took her, she adopted YOU as her new Mommy
Can you post a picture of her?
In case anyone knows of someone looking for a Morkie. They are really adorable little dogs. I have seen a couple.
