in My experience, this is normal. when my girls are nursing, any time they get up beside me, i rub some cool (not cold) water on her belly to ease the 'burning' redness (i'm assuming it is quite hot). vet-nurse sugested it.
as long as the puppies claws are short enough, she should be fine feeding them until weaning time with minimal discomfortn (at which point maybe some sudocream could be rubbed on her- but only once the pups are completely finished as its not really made for consumption!).
