And that is why the place i work at has a iron gate at the entrance of the play room, then a sliding door between that and the front store/check in area. Then to top it off the front door is always locked and clients need to ring the doorbell to be buzzed in and hit a release button to buzz themselves out.
such a shame about the poor bichon. there is no excuse for that. there should have been barriers between the kennels where the dogs are kept and the front door. Plus the front door should never be held open for any period of time longer then it takes for someone to walk in or out.
