Hi Julie,
Have you tried to put the tiny puppy to nurse by himself on the biggest nipple? He may the younger puppy, the last egg to be fertilized , you may need to supplement him.
Make sure you keep him going, hand feed if you need to , with a seringe, you can "milk the mom" into a medicine cup or use a supplement , such as puppy formula, many here use the goats milk , which i am not familiar with .
To avoid the calcium drop make sure to supplement mommy now, a quarter of a "tums" tablet a day and one small spoon of fat free cottage cheese 2 times a day will do for now.
You need to care for the tiny puppy and make sure he is warm until she passes this state of immediate post labor and things calm down .
Is he latching to nurse?
