I think my confusion is that I would pay the same price for a pup with or without this defect.. so the pricing doesn't make sense...
Its not about perfection..but aesthetics are always part of that decision making process. I was, of course, disappointed that this issue presented, but I can understand how complex it could be.. I am, as a new puppy consumer, truly looking for a quality pet to love and join the family is all. |
I understand what you mean, when I went to get Joey, I was actually going to buy his brother, who was really an excellent example of the breed for a 12 week old. All of Joey's breeder's pet dogs are the same price, no difference in males or females. However, when we got there, Joey came over to me and wanted me to hold him, his brother just bit my toes and ran. Lol, I know some people love that type attitude, but I bonded with Joey. He wasn't perfect, his tail had been broken during birth, but he acted like he loved me, and I loved him. The price didn't go down just because I chose the "imperfect" dog. For me, it's not about price as much as it is, do you believe in this breeder, and what type of guarantee does she offer? You are really buying a relationship with this breeder; she's the first one you should turn to with questions concerning your dog.
