I like both the Madan and Christensen metal pin brushes. They both work about the same, but I do prefer the Christensen brush bc it is small. It's almost pocket size and fits my hand better than a large brush.

The brush that I like better than those is the wooden pin brush. Christensen makes a good one, but I found a human wooden pin brush that is just as good quality but wasn't quite as expensive.

You can use a little cornstarch sprinkled over a mat, work it through with your fingers.....the mats come out easily. Use a detangler spray on the rest of the coat, brushing a dry coat will break the hair. Any hair conditioner watered down can be used as a detangler....put it in a little spray bottle.
