Okay, I guess the Dyson guy knew what he was talking about; I just don't have the faith in the phone people. I just ordered mine last Monday, so I don't have it yet. I'm hoping it works for things like that, I have a high shelf in the family room that gets so dusty, and I wouldn't care except if you're on the stair steps you can see it. The frig gets a once a year dusting whether it needs it or not! I want something that also does the intake air grates for the AC and heating system, my Hoover just wasn't powerful enough, but the brush was good, and I think this is powerful enough, but the brush that comes with it, is just too tiny. Really, this has gotten me on a whole new cleaning and decorating binge!
