I'm not positive, but I think mostly to make sure the liver and kidneys are strong enough to clean out the anethesia after surgery? Someone with more knowledge will clear this up I am sure.
Also, I'm gonna shoot this question to Mardelin, since I'm sure she knows, when is the best time to do the blood work? 24 hours before surgery, a few days before, or right before? When Uni was sick last, her blood work took about 1/2 a day to get the results in, but I think they put a rush on it. Should i ask for blood work the day before, and if everything's ok, bring her back in for the surgery?
