Have you looked for "comfortable shoes" for bug? It would keep the boys away and just attract other sensible dog shoe wearers
My Scooter (german shepherd) just stands there while Alfie jiggles away. He nearly got to the point of no return the other day
but Scooter, bless him, just lets him get on with it. Alfie then pants and lights up a cigarette before licking scooters face to death.
