Default limping...need advice

My little 10 year old guy started limping this afternoon when we were walking. At one point he was walking on three legs and holding up the right front paw.
I have watched him for the past several hours. He is now walking on all four legs, but seems to be favoring the front right leg. I have looked at his paw and have not seen anything. He is still playing and has tried to do some jumping (which I have prevented). He does not cry or whine when I pick him up or rub that leg.
Any idea what could be going on. It is the front right paw/leg. If it were broken would he be able to walk at all? I know yorkies have problems with their knees ad hips; could this be what is going on? How can I tell if it is a problem with his paw or his leg?
Thanks!
