No, apparently you didn't since she ended up with a litter. As far as doing 'what was best for the situation,' that would have been having her spayed as soon as you realized she tied, not risking her life.
You did 'what you wanted', not 'what was best.' What is done is done...no amount of excuses are going to change that.
As far as members here being 'protective'--most see that as a POSITIVE thing. I'm glad to see that not everyone has a total disregard for the health and well being of these little dogs.
