I don't know if they will let you "rescue" them and rehome. Many shelters have contracts where that is not allowed unless you are a true rescue organization. I'm on my way to work but maybe send LadyJane a PM and ask her for a few contacts in TN area that might be able to help out. Try YTRN I know they are in the TN/IN area and might be able to help. Also check on Petfinder for local rescues that not know. Just because the one dog is acting aggressive it could really be frightened because of the surroundings. If I were closer......
