I haven't read all of this, but just wanted to put in my 2 cents regarding looking into rescue. As a representative of YTNR, I would not even call for a phone interview if I knew the applicant was a teenage or college age person (yes, our applicatiion asks for a birthdate). I would have to talk with the parents, the people in charge of the bills. So unless the mother of the OP is willing to put her name on rescues' lists, I don't see the OP ever getting called back.
It also seems as though the mother is not so gung-ho about getting another dog, and during phone interviews and home visits, we would be able to read that out. Actually, I don't think they would even get to the point of a home visit.
I would say the only good way to get a morkie is through the shelters and pound. OP would not qualify to get one through rescue.
Or find someone who had an "oops" litter, but to me, that is not responsible either.
