Do you understand that if a breeder doesn't even know that the Yorkie is a Toy breed, it really shows that she has NEVER taken the opportunity to study the breed at all. I would guess most pet owners here at Yorkietalk know that the Yorkie is a in the Toy breed category, and for the breeder to say there is no such thing as a toy, means that she has such a meager understanding of the breed. This means that you can be quite sure she hasn't studied any of the health problems that afflict this breed, and that she probably doesn't do any health testing. A semi- knowledgeable breeder would have said there is no such thing as teacups, and yorkies are in the toy breed, but she said there is no such thing as toys or teacups. You may think it's just a little error, but as you study the breed, you will realize, it's a dead giveaway that the breeder is NOT knowledgeable, and therefore is breeding for the wrong reasons.
