We bought this one for our hallway:

We had to use the extensions because our hallway is wide, but we wanted to block them from rushing the door. It's swings open. The bottom bar you have to step over as you can see in the picture, but we have been really happy with it. We wanted the metal so it would look more decorative then the white plastic type you see for babies.
