Anytime a vet recommends something to me, I ask how long it's been on the market and to let me think about it.
If it's a new product of any kind, I automatically say no. I say no because the research and testing before it goes out isn't sufficient, IMO. Time after time I've heard horror stories about new vaccines, or flea & tick medications or something else. For anything that has been on the market for a while, I go home and research first.
Actually though, my vet is pretty cautious and follows a conservative vaccination protocol. She doesn't vaccinate for everything, just for what is necessary for us and no more often than every three years. None of my senior dogs get immunizations at all.
