When I heard about this "new" vaccine I had to do some searching about it, I wasn't impressed at what I found.....This vaccine does not stops periodontal disease...It still requires all the normal dental cleanings and also bushings at home. It was approved on a "conditional" basis....Which essentially means they will allow it on the market and they will monitor any adverse reactions that get reported (which most don't). If it injures too many dogs then it will be pulled from the market or it will be fully approved.

So in a sense our pets are the guinea pigs for the continuing clinical trials.....This vaccine also has formaldehyde in it, which is a potent cancer causer......Also, this vaccine was tested on 8 month old pups and deemed effective.......How many pups have periodontal disease???.....This is a tricky way to get the clinical trials to swing in the manufacturers favor.....

When it come to evaluating the risk to benefit ratio for my pet this would be a huge no-no for me .....I hope your little one is better soon......

For what it's worth this link has complaints about the vaccine.....
