You do not need to have your pup neutered by 5 months, but one of the advantages to having him done early, if he is large enough is that he may never learn to lift his leg. Also, although I know it is too late, with toy dogs, I never give the boosters with the rabies. That is just too much on their little systems. I wait about 3 weeks after the last boosters to get the rabies done.
