Goldens and parti's have been appearing in litters since the beginning of the breed. Unfortunately due to their off standard color, they were given away or destroyed because it was thought that they were inferior or defective.
Parti and golden color are a result of recessive genes that can hide for generations.
These off standard colors have been eligible for registration with AKC since 2000, as long as photo are provided at time of registration. |
