Please check rescues, shelters and Petfinder before going to a breeder. I know it's 'the thing' to find a puppy online and have it shipped across the country but come on...save your money and save a soul!

I am looking at Petfinder right now and there are currently 1,492 Yorkies and Yorkie mixes listed. That is an enormous number and the stories are sad...retired breeders who no longer make money for their owner so they are dumped at the shelter, puppies that grew too big, rescued puppies from puppy mills, seniors who aren't wanted because of failing health, those that couldn't be house trained or a human baby came along...the excuses go on and on. You know what an excuse is don't you? It's a lie wrapped up in reason.

There are 1,492 beautiful Yorkies who need homes...that is 1,492 beauties, cuties, seniors, retired breeders, lost souls who were never claimed, puppies and those who are just looking for a warm bed, soft lap and loving home.

Please take a look there first...you might just find your new best friend.
