Then I went next size up and tried to twist it on there twice - actually got the band in but the bow ended up being a little too big and heavy for the amount of hair I had in there.

I have so many different sizes that I bought online, but I had trouble with all of them. I found some stretchy ones in the baby department of Walmart, that are my favorite, and I wrap them around 4 times. The smallest size, I had to wrap twice, but it was hard for me since they were so stiff. This site has some tips for putting in a bow, and sometimes a puppy bow works best until they get a thicker topknot.
