Until I read how this changes your male from a sweet little boy to a "Big" Man, I didn't know there was a problem. Also, if someone isn't aware that yorkies are one of the sickliest breeds because so many people are breeding for profit and not doing health testing and not studying the lines, before breeding, they may think we are making a big deal about nothing. She believes you "have to take chances in life." She doesn't understand that this is not a chance she's taking; nothing will happen to her if things don't turn out right. It's a chance she's allowing some female yorkie to take, and even her male, as he could be injured during mating if knowledgeable people aren't assisting. She thinks animals do it in the wild so what's the big deal, she doesn't understand that once man domesticates an animal, man does have the responsibility to stay involved and learn how to breed safely. She feels no protection, yet, over yorkies as a whole.
NatNatt thinks because her dog is little and cute and healthy, he'll have little cute healthy puppies, she doesn't want to hear that there is a high probability this will not be the case, she only wants to know how much money she should ask for. She's not thinking about where those puppies will go, or if the new owners will have the money to pay for any health problems the puppies might have. She doesn't understand that breeders should do EVERYTHING in their power to ensure that they are breeding dogs whose offspring have a wonderful chance at being healthy. She probably doesn't understand that the number one cause of death in unneutered male dogs is death due to injuries caused by a car accident, once they have been bred, they want to continue to do it, and can smell a bitch in heat ten miles away. Breeders sacrifice a lot for this breed, but good breeders do it for the love of the breed, not the love of money. |

Great Post!!
In looking back over the OP's other posts it seems she has a pattern of stirring the pot and bowing out as it starts to ripple. She has asked for advice in the past and has clearly ignored what was offered to her.I wonder why someone would ask for advice and not take it. It seems pointless to ask in the first place.
She was told that 6 weeks old was too young for a Yorkie to leave its mother and siblings and yet she still insisted on getting him that young. Later, she posted about how very frustrated she was with him when he was exhibiting behaviors and habits she thought was very inappropriate and did not fit in with her lifestyle.
When the pup was 4 months old she started a post bragging how wonderfully healthy her puppy was and tried to rub it in the other posters' faces by saying "I guess what you all told me about 6 weeks being to young was not true."
The sad part about this whole ordeal is that those furbabies will be the one to suffer from the blatant stupidity of their owners. I to have done some stupid things in my life and with my furbabies, but I can sit here and honestly say that at least I am not so self absorbed that I will not listen to hard core facts and reasoning. I have changed my mind and outlook on lots of things and I can only hope that one day something will click in the OP's head and a light will come on.
Until then, I don't feel like this OP has intentions of asking legitimate questions she wants legitimate answers for, and that is why I will not entertain her threads anymore.
