Oh, Amanda, this is so tragic! I am so sorry to hear that your little Macey is no longer by your side. I am sure that you are so unhappy and confused, and probably pretty angry right now. I cannot give you any advice on how to move forward with any action towards the vet. Most vets have people sign a release saying that you understand there are dangers involved in surgery, and that releases them from liability.

As far as getting another furbaby is concerned, I highly recommend it. In August one of my babies died in an unfortunate accident, and her best fur friend was heart broken and passed away 6 weeks later. We got our Wosie immediately, and she is indeed the best medicine for my heartache. Wosie is now 5 months old, and the light of my life. But give yourself time to grieve first, and wait until after the holidays so that you can give your new puppy a calmer environment for their welcome into your home.
