I would love that the show ring accomadates those with infirmities, wheelchair etc. How-ever I did read somewhere that a blind man was allowed to have an "assistant" run with his dog, and he took over the stacking/examination part. Now I can't remember what club that was in.
In obedience I compete at venues that have at least one woman in a wheelchair competing with her papillon. |
We have a lady in my area that shows Parsons with a walker at AKC shows. It seems to me that I saw a wheelchair in the ring at the Hampton show but I don't remember who it was. I know a lady that shows Tibbies that gets ringside in a scooter and than hobbles around the ring. The dogs are trained perfectly so that it makes it easier on her and she wins quite often. I love to see people overcome the odds to enjoy their hobby.
