When we had to take Lil Bit to the emergency vet clinic a couple of months ago I was so glad I had a savings account. My husband called me from the clinic, they wanted over $900 deposit, so my husband knew he couldn't use the debit card and we don't like using a credit card. I was able to go online to my ING account and immediately transfer the money from savings to the debit card so my husband could use it. If we hadn't had that savings account we would have had to use the credit card.
It is so important to have money aside for these emergencies.
