Pumpkin is a good food to try for his tummy. It works for both...going too much and not going enough.
However, if he's new to your home is it possible you've changed his food from what he was being fed?
I made this mistake myself just a month ago. I didn't change brands but I changed flavors and I ended up with three dogs with the poopies!
I usually switch to boiled chicken and rice. Between that and the pumpkin I can usually clear it up in a few days.
Keep in touch with your Vet. He is just a little guy!
