A tip for ridding your home of fleas-get several large boxes of baking soda and cover your carpet with it and under all furniture that sits on your carpet ( beds, dressers, sofas etc...) leave it in the carpet for at least 1 week without vacuuming then the day before you vac each time put more down. Fleas have a very thin shell and the powder will scratch the shell , the fleas will then dehydrate & die. Also the baking soda will get on the dog & keep the fleas off. Totally safe & Non-Toxic for your pets. You can use a broom to sweep it into the carpet so it doesn't look so bad till you can vac . Also do not vac it up where you put it under furniture, no one can see it there anyway and it will keep the fleas from hiding out there. Also I would not trust any flea med that doesn't come from your vet as it can and Often does Poison your pet.
Baking soda and Baking powder are Extremely toxic to pets. Any spills should be picked up immediatley. Dogs will develop muscle spasms, severe electrolyte imbalances due to the two main chemicals; sodium aluminum sulfate and calcium acid phosphate: also these two may cause Congestive heart failure in you pup. I would definitely not leave these two around on the floor at all. They are extremely dangerous for our pups.
